Jesus Ascended and Gave Gifts to Men! (Eph 4:8)

 Diversity of Gifts

Grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.Therefore, it says:

“He ascended on high and took prisoners captive; He gave gifts to men."

"Go and preach My love, teaching all I have taught you, baptizing in My name, but wait in the city until you have been clothed with Power from on high. " (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15, Luke 24;49)  

He gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers, to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

In the Acts of the Apostles chapter 10 the entire household of the Roman Soldier Cornelius is baptized in the fire of the Holy Spirit as St. Peter preached the fiery Word of Truth of our God to them.  St. John the Baptist had prophesied that he came to baptize with the water of repentance but that Jesus, was coming to baptize us with the Spirit and Fire! (Mt 3:11)  

We can see "how" our God fulfills that prophesy, by bathing us with His fiery Word of Truth for indeed, "faith comes from hearing the fiery Word of Truth of God!  (Rom 10:17)  Alleluia!  

What is so marvelous is that God gave both Cornelius and Peter visions at the same time which brought them together and overcame obstacles that would have normally prevented them from trusting one another and in this way our God saved Cornelius and his entire household as revealed in Acts of the Apostles chapter 10.

While Peter was still speaking these things, the Holy Spirit (of Truth) fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit (of Truth) should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God. Then Peter responded, “Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit even as we have?” He ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for a few days.  (Acts of the Apostles 10:
